As per the News On Air, Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu today stated that the Centre is preparing plans to further develop tourist destinations around prominent temples in Andhra Pradesh under the PRASHAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive) scheme.

The minister today offered prayers at the Kanipajam Varasiddhi Vinayaka Swamy Temple in the Chittoor district in the state. After the visit, the minister addressed the media and stated that the government aims to strengthen infrastructure and amenities at pilgrimage centres to boost spiritual tourism in Andhra Pradesh.
Talking about the PRASHAD scheme, he stated that this scheme focuses on improving facilities such as connectivity, sanitation, and other tourist services in temple towns, making them more feasible and accessible. He also said that national highway projects are rapidly increasing in Andhra Pradesh under the coalition government and also stated that improved infrastructure will further add to the state’s growth.
In the press release published on the government site, the minister stated that Andhra Pradesh is attracting investors from across the globe. Mr Naidu revealed that several new industries are expected to develop in the near future, generating more employment opportunities and contributing to the state’s economic development.

What Is The PRASHAD Scheme?
The Ministry of Tourism under the PRASHAD provides financial assistance to the state government and union territory administrations for the development of tourism infrastructure at identified pilgrimage destinations.
Under the scheme, infrastructure development is undertaken in an inclusive, integrated, and sustainable manner that focuses on livelihoods, skills, cleanliness, security, and service delivery.
