Pune-Nashik Corridor To Commence Soon
As per a report by News18, the Pune-Nashik corridor, which is aimed at easing traffic congestion in the Chakan and Khed areas, is under construction and is progressing rapidly. With three major companies, including Adani Enterprises, showing interest, the technical bidding process for this ambitious project, estimated at ₹7,827 crore, has been completed. As a result, the work on the project is expected to start soon. Implemented by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), the corridor will incorporate advanced engineering features. The proposed 8-lane elevated corridor will be constructed on a single-pillar structure, minimising land usage on the ground. Additionally, the existing highway beneath will be expanded to six lanes from four lanes.

The 30-km project will fully segregate long-distance traffic and locals, while ensuring safer and faster connectivity to important industrial points like Bhosari, Moshi, Chakan and Khed. The project is said to bring an important relief to lakhs of workers and entrepreneurs who travel daily to industrial zones, especially the Chakan MIDC area, where there is daily traffic congestion that often stretches for hours.
The Importance Of Pune-Nashik Corridor
As per the news portal, MLA Mahesh Landge has proactively played an important role in pushing the project forward. Talking about the corridor, he told the portal that efforts are currently underway to address land acquisition challenges between Bhosari and Moshi to ensure smooth implementation. He also highlighted the importance of the project and said this corridor will be a milestone in the development of the Pimpri-Chinchwad and Chakan regions. However, further details regarding the highway are still awaited.
