Gundicha Temple In Puri Reopens After 6 Years
The decision to reopen the doors of Puri’s Gundicha Temple was taken by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration just recently. According to OdishaTV.in, the famous temple was closed since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. During the period of closure, various development and improvement work was carried out inside the temple premises.
Now, the reopening will once again allow devotees to visit the historic temple and pray. The temple authorities also carried out an inspection of the premises and the arrangements made for devotees. Gundicha Temple is significant for being the destination of the annual Rath Yatra. Its premises are occupied by images of deities of Lord Jagannath, his brother Balabhadra and sister Subhadra.

Entry Fee Is ₹10 For Devotees
According to OdishaTV.in, devotees visiting the Gundicha Temple in Puri will have to pay an entry fee of ₹10. However, for senior citizens and children coming for darshan, the entry will be free of cost. Devotees visiting the temple will also get free storage facilities to keep their shoes and mobile phones safely.
Moreover, the administration has also made arrangements for a ramp facility to allow differently-abled devotees to access the premises for darshan. The visiting hours for devotees will be 6 AM to 5 PM every day. If you are planning to visit Gundicha Temple, it is advised that you do so early in the morning to avoid the afternoon crowds, beat the heat and experience a peaceful darshan. And yes, dress respectfully in modest clothes.
