“Rain Fee Is Okay, But GST On Rain?” Man Questions Unusual Food Delivery Bill Charges

When we order food or groceries online, there are always extra charges we have to pay. This can include a restaurant packaging charge, a high demand surcharge or even a rain fee when the weather is wet outside. But now a post is going viral showing an online delivery platform charging a user not just a rain fee but also GST on the rain fee! This has left many netizens confused on the internet.

Viral Post Shows Rain Fee And GST On Rain Charge

Ordering food or groceries online might be convenient, but we cannot call it exactly cheap. Apart from paying for our food, we are also forced to pay certain other charges like restaurant packaging, platform fee, restaurant GST, high demand fee, and so much more.

Sometimes online food and delivery platforms also add a rain fee as an extra charge during rainy weather. These fees are designed to compensate delivery partners who are operating in difficult conditions. But what about GST on rain?
