Soon after the Indian Men’s Cricket Team won the T20 World Cup 2026 and the celebrations ended, the players decided to take the first flight back to their hometowns to relish the victory with their families. But for cricketer Shivam Dube, his journey back home was an experience altogether. As flights were not available, he had to return on a 3rd AC train coach. Read on to find out more about how he travelled by train.
Shivam Dube Took A Train From Ahmedabad To Mumbai
After playing big and winning the third T20 World Cup title for India, all-rounder Shivam Dube, along with his wife Anjum Khan and a friend, travelled back to Mumbai on a train.
According to The Indian Express, Shivam revealed how there were no flights available, so he decided to take a train from Ahmedabad early in the morning to Mumbai, as it was a faster option. He, along with his wife and a friend, decided to board a train on a 3rd AC coach, as those were the only tickets available. He told the news portal that everyone around him was worried, thinking, “What if anyone recognises him at the station or in the train?”

How Did Shivam Dube Board The Train Unnoticed?
Talking about his journey on a train, he revealed how he wore a cap, a mask and a full-sleeved T-shirt. Dube recalled that it was a 5:10 am train, so he hoped that there wouldn’t be many people on the platform. But unexpectedly, there were many people, so he informed his wife that he would wait inside the car until 5 minutes before the departure and then board the train.
Once inside the train, he quickly moved to the top berth, and when the travelling ticket examiner (TTE) came, his wife handled the situation nicely.
The TTE asked, “Who is Shivam Dube?’ The cricketer? To which his wife replied, ‘No, why will he board the train?”
