A disturbing video is going viral on social media showing a passenger smoking openly on Bengaluru airport’s tarmac and behaving aggressively towards staff. The video has sparked anger online, and netizens are demanding strict action against the passenger. Here’s what happened.
Passenger Seen Smoking At Bengaluru Airport
According to a report by The Free Press Journal, the incident happened at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. A passenger, identified as Utkarsh Gautam, was seen openly smoking on the airport tarmac in a video posted by an X user, @rameshofficial0. In the clip, when the airport staff told the passenger that smoking was not allowed, he allegedly blew smoke in their face.
Not just that, the passenger also turned violent. He started abusing and made personal remarks against the staff. He even asked where it was written that smoking was not allowed at the airport. The man also challenged officials to step outside of their cabin while the staff tried to prevent further escalation.

Netizens Demand Strict Action
According to The Free Press Journal, the incident at Bengaluru airport has triggered anger among netizens. Many criticised the behaviour and wrote comments like, “Airports are high-risk zones, and such actions and security lapses must be investigated and dealt with strictly,” while another wrote, “This guy is a Google employee but has zero civic sense. Unless people like him are punished, they will not improve.”
A third user questioned the authorities and asked how he passed the security check with a lighter. Many others demanded that the passenger “should be blacklisted”. One user even claimed that he is a repeat offender and did something similar at Mumbai airport a few weeks ago.
