Every year, this list ranks passports based on how many countries their holders can visit easily. Singapore tops the list again, while India has moved up, giving its citizens access to more destinations than before.
World’s Strongest Passports 2026 Revealed
The Henley Passport Index is the original and most trusted ranking of passports worldwide. It compares passports based on how many destinations you can travel to without applying for a visa in advance. The index is built using exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the world’s largest and most accurate travel information database.
There’s some good news for Indian travellers. In the newly released rankings, India has moved up five places to land at the 80th position, with visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 55 destinations. While the number of destinations has dipped slightly compared to last year, the improved rank shows that India has performed better relative to other countries on the global mobility scale.
At the very top of the list are passports that offer near-unrestricted travel across the globe. Singapore takes the crown again, with access to an incredible 192 destinations. Japan and South Korea follow closely, allowing entry to 188 destinations. Denmark, Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland share the next spot with 186 destinations.
