12-YO Loses Gold Jewellery Worth ₹85 Lakh For Momos

According to NDTV, Vimlesh Mishra, a temple priest from Varanasi, filed a complaint in Deoria alleging that three men who ran a momo stall exploited his son’s love for the street snack to trick him into handing over the family’s gold jewellery. As per his claim, the accused lured the 12-year-old by offering him ‘free momos’ and gradually persuaded him to bring jewellery from home in exchange.

The men allegedly promised unlimited momos if the boy brought gold from his house. Driven by his fondness for the snack, the child reportedly took jewellery from his home and handed it over to them. The incident came to light only when Vimlesh Mishra’s sister visited the house and asked for her jewellery. Upon finding the cupboard empty and questioning the boy, he confessed to his deed.
