Uri In Jammu & Kashmir Set For Major Tourism Upgrade; Here’s What’s Planned For Tourists

Uri is a scenic border town located in the Baramulla district. The beauty of this town lies in its remote, untouched Himalayan landscapes and visually stunning spots. But now, to boost tourist footfall in the area, the Jammu and Kashmir government is planning an ₹8 crore tourism boost for Uri. Here’s what we know.

Major Tourism Projects Planned For Uri In Jammu & Kashmir

Uri is an active military area and usually requires special permission from the Indian Army for non-local tourists to visit. Though the place is beautiful, it does not receive a large number of tourists every year. But this might soon change. According to Rising Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir government is now planning a ₹8 crore tourism boost for the border town.

The project aims to transform the frontier town into a key tourist destination. The initiative will not just bring in more visitors but also create new job opportunities for locals. Reportedly, the project also aims to strengthen tourism infrastructure across several scenic locations in Uri.
