Teen In Uttar Pradesh Builds AI-Robo Teacher

According to The Free Press Journal, 17-year-old Aditya Kumar, a Class 12 student from Shiv Charan Inter College in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, has impressed many with his AI-powered robot teacher, Sophie. Built at a cost of just ₹25,000, Sophie is intended to complement the school’s teaching staff. In an interview, Aditya explained that he developed the model using advanced technology, enabling it to interact with students and assist in teaching.

A now-viral video of the AI teacher interacting with students is making rounds on the internet. It has left many impressed with the young student’s innovative approach. In the video, Aditya asks the robot to introduce itself. The robo teacher replies, “Hello baccho, main ek AI teacher hoon, mera naam Sophie hain. Mujhe Aditya ne invent kiya hain, main Shiv Charan Inter College, Bulandshahr mein padhati hoon.”

A Remarkable Innovation

To demonstrate how the AI robot teacher in Uttar Pradesh works, Aditya asked Sophie a series of questions. From the names of India’s first president and prime minister to explaining what electricity is, Sophie answered each question accurately, impressing everyone with her capabilities. The robot teacher is currently equipped with Hindi language and vocal skills.

The young student revealed that he used an LLM chipset to build the AI teacher. She can currently clear students’ doubts and engage in conversation. He is now working on a new design that would enable the robot to write as well, pending access to more advanced labs and technological resources.
