Vaishno Devi Yatra Suspended; Devotees To Get Full Refund

The Vaishno Devi Yatra remains suspended after landslides and cloudbursts have hampered the route, making it unsafe for pilgrims. As per a report by News18, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) has informed devotees that they can avail a full refund for all bookings. This includes helicopter services (Katra to Bhawan), ropeway rides (Bhawan to Bhairon Ghati), hotel bookings, and other cancelled services.

Devotees can claim a 100% refund for as long as the yatra remains suspended. SMVDSB also announced this on their X account, explaining the steps required to get the refund. According to the post, you need to send a cancellation request with your details to refund@maavaishnodevi.net.

Earlier self-cancellations will receive pending refunds within 15 days. If you are unsure about the process, you can call the Shrine Board helpline for assistance. You can contact the SMVDSB Call Centre on 18001807212 or +91 9906019494. The authorities will help resolve all your queries.

Landslide Claims 30 Lives

As per News18, a devastating landslide occurred on the yatra trek on Tuesday. It claimed the lives of over 30 people and left 20 devotees injured. The disaster struck around 3 pm when heavy rains triggered a landslide near Inderprastha Bhojnalaya at Adhkuwari, which lies halfway along the 12 km trek from Katra to the holy cave at the Trikuta hills.

Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who is also the chairman of SMVDSB, stated that the yatra was halted temporarily. Moreover, a high-level three-member committee has been set up to investigate the causes of the landslide.
