Vande Bharat Cuts Through Misty Hills, Wins The Internet
In a viral video, the railway route cuts through dense forests and mountainous terrain, with steep gradients, sharp curves, tunnels and bridges adding to the dramatic landscape. The footage was shared by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on X on Sunday. Posting the video, he wrote, “New age trains! Make more in India.”
The Sakleshpur–Subrahmanya Road stretch is known as one of the more challenging sections of the Bengaluru-Mangaluru railway route because of its terrain. Safety trials for introducing Vande Bharat services on the ghat section began in mid-August 2026, with railway officials assessing the train’s performance on the demanding route.
The aerial footage offers a spectacular perspective of the train as it moves through mist-covered hills and rain-soaked greenery. The bright Vande Bharat coaches stand out against the deep green landscape, creating what many viewers described as a cinematic monsoon scene.
The video quickly drew reactions online, with several users highlighting the beauty of the Western Ghats. “Beauty of Shiradi Ghat,” one user commented, while another identified the stretch as the route between Sakleshpur and Subrahmanya Road.
