Imtiaz Ali, an Indian film director and producer, was recently in the holy town of Pushkar, Rajasthan, and stopped over at a local cafe to enjoy a glass of cold coffee. The most surprising part is that the staff got to know about his visit only later. Here’s why you should visit this cafe too on your next trip to Pushkar.
Imtiaz Ali Visits One Coffee Down In Pushkar
Known for hit movies like Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal, Rockstar, and more, Imtiaz Ali is one of the best storytellers of Bollywood. But he is also known for keeping his travel low-key, which reflects his immense humility and simple lifestyle. Recently, he visited Pushkar, a holy town in Rajasthan, known for Pushkar Mela, Pushkar Lake and its sweet syrup-soaked Malpuas.
The director stopped for a glass of cold coffee at One Coffee Down in the town, a place known for speciality coffee and French-style bakery items. The most surprising part is that the staff did not know about his visit and served him like they usually do to other people, as Imtiaz Ali was wearing a cap.
He just normally entered the cafe, placed his order, paid for it, and sat outside without attracting any special attention. The staff at the cafe got to know through the CCTV footage and realised that the storyteller had made their day by stepping into the cafe.
The official page of the cafe uploaded the video and wrote, “We didn’t know who had just walked into our cafe… until later. A special visit by one of Bollywood’s finest storytellers- Imtiaz Ali Sir. Thank you, Sir, for visiting us.”
