According to a report by News18, high-altitude villages across the Ladakh region transform into a dreamy landscape filled with pink and white flowers for a few weeks each spring. Apricot trees bloom across orchard fields and villages, creating a scene worth visiting. It typically blooms between late March and mid-April, depending on the weather. Since the blooming period is short, it often lasts just two or three weeks. In Ladakh, places such as Leh, Nubra Valley, and Turtuk are among the best spots to witness the blooms. The experience feels similar to cherry blossoms but less crowded and more peaceful.

The Ladakh Tourism Department hosts the Apricot Blossom Festival every year to celebrate the season. Typically, the festival takes place in early April across multiple villages. Visitors can witness traditional dance and music performances, taste regional dishes, and explore local handicrafts. This period is said to be one of the best times to experience village life in Ladakh. This year, the event will take place between 8 and 16 April across the Kargil and Ladakh districts.

Many communities and locals grow them in their homes and land, and the fruit becomes an important source of income during the summer.
