Why Will Tamil Nadu Develop Jawadhu Hills As Eco Tourism Hub?

Move away, Ooty, Kodaikanal and Yercaud, because Tamil Nadu will soon be known for Jawadhu Hill, an upcoming eco-tourism spot. As per a report by Mid-Day, the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) has proposed a revamp of the hidden scenic getaway. Glamping and camping amenities will be developed at Jawadhu Hills, located in the Tiruvannamalai district.

Nestled across 7.65 acres, Jawadhu Hills is the Tamil Nadu government’s attempt to push for experiential and sustainable tourism. The destination will be positioned as an alluring getaway for tourists who wish to spend more time in nature while minimising their carbon footprint.

Rolling hills, green forests, earthy fragrance of fresh soil bewitch trekkers here. For stargazers, there’s the Kavalur Observatory sitting amidst the peaks. Offering a window into the cosmos, tourists can soak in the beauty of twinkling stars in a sky free of air pollution. Thick teak and sandalwood forests envelop the Eastern Ghat range. Komutteri Lake calls upon photographers and those seeking a few moments of solitude.

Luxury Tents, Safari Tents & Glamping Domes To Come Up

A senior TTDC official stated to Mid-Day that experiential and sustainable tourism is the future. Moreover, the official added that glamping and camping models appeal to travellers seeking outdoor experiences while having a low-impact on the environment. The Tamil Nadu government is focusing on tourism models that attract travellers to stay close to nature without causing ecological harm.

Jawadhu Hills has the potential to become an eco-hub perfect for camping infrastructure.
