People travelling on national highways connecting Jaipur to various cities will now have to pay an extra toll amount, as the National Highway Authority of India has increased toll rates on the route. The hike will go into effect on April 1st. Read on to know more about the hike.
NHAI Increases Toll Price Of Jaipur Highway
According to a report by Bhaskar English, the hike applies to all toll plazas on the Ring Road, Jaipur-Kishangarh, Jaipur-Sikar, and Jaipur-Dausa highways. The NHAI states that the new rates will be in effect at the toll booths on the former Delhi-Jaipur highway in Daulatpura, Manoharpur, and Shahjahanpur. The highway rates have been increased at Thikaria and Badgaon on the Jaipur-Kishangarh highway, as well as on the Ring Road at Sitarampura and Hingonia, and at the Tatiawas toll booth on the Jaipur-Sikar route. The good news, as per NHAI, is that there has been no increase in car toll rates at any of the tolls. Most of the hike applies to commercial and heavy vehicles.

As per the news portal, the increase in toll ranges from ₹5 to ₹20. On the Ring Road, there is no hike for private and light commercial vehicles. The toll increase only applies to heavy commercial vehicles.
Annual Pass Rate To Hike From April 1
Additionally, NHAI has also increased the price of the annual pass for cars by ₹75. The hike will also be effective from April 1. Currently, the cost of the annual pass is ₹3,000, which allows crossing up to 200 toll booths. From April 1, users will have to pay ₹3,075 for the pass.
The government launched this special annual pass on August 15, and it has received a tremendous response. So far, more than 52 lakh highway car users have opted for the scheme. According to the news portal, one of the key features of the scheme is that it can be recharged multiple times a year, which is affordable for frequent travellers. If you are a frequent traveller on highways and wish to avoid the hike, then you can buy the pass before March 31 at the old rate of ₹3,000; the new system will be updated from April 1.
