An Instagram user, Roop (@theroopk), recently shared a post appreciating a soldier of the Indian Army. She wrote that she was returning from Braj after Holi to Delhi. While waiting at Mathura Junction railway station, she noticed that her phone battery was at just 2%. Since she had to send her live location to her parents, she needed just five minutes to charge her phone.

The train was about to arrive at the platform. She went to different stalls asking if she could charge her phone for a few minutes, but everyone apparently refused. There wasn’t enough time to go to the waiting room and search for a charging point either. Her phone was about to die, and she urgently needed some battery to send her location to her parents. Right next to Platform 6 at the railway station, she noticed a military train standing there. There, Roop saw an Indian Army soldier charging his phone.

Roop then approached the soldier and asked if she could charge her phone for just five minutes. Without thinking twice, the soldier removed his own phone and handed over his power bank to her. She wrote, “That moment stayed with me. When nobody helped, the Indian Army did — selflessly, quietly, without any second thought. For some people, it might be a small thing. But for me, in that moment, it meant everything.”

After charging her phone for a few minutes, she returned the power bank to the soldier and headed towards her coach, finishing the rest of the charging on the train. She ended the post by hoping that the message reaches the soldier so he knows that his kind gesture towards a passenger is appreciated. The post has already garnered over three million views and is going viral on the internet.
