Why Are 3 Of Delhi’s Most Popular Malls On The Brink Of Closure?

Delhi folks, we have some news for you all! Ahead of the festive season, three of Delhi’s most famous malls–DLF Promenade, DLF Emporio, and Ambience Mall–might shut down. Why? Severe water shortage. If the malls aren’t supplied by water in the next couple of days, they might consider temporary closures. Here’s all about this.

According to India Today, DLF Promenade, DLF Emporio, and Ambience Mall in Vasant Kunj are facing severe water shortage. And if the problem isn’t solved soon, the mall authorities might end up temporarily shutting down the facilities. The managements of the three malls have confirmed that water supply from the Delhi Jal Board has been disrupted for several days.

The situation is so severe that almost 70% of the toilets in these malls have been closed. Furthermore, restaurants in these three malls are also struggling to carry out basic operations like washing dishes and serving water to the customers. In fact, many of them have been forced to curtail or temporarily suspend their services.

A Big Blow Ahead Of The Festive Season

Amid this, mall authorities have said that if the water supply isn’t restored soon, they might have to shut down operations. This will be a big blow to all the businesses in these malls, especially ahead of the Diwali festive season. It will also impact business, and thousands of jobs are hanging in the balance.

As per India Today, there has been no statement provided by the Delhi Jal Board on this issue yet or on when normal supply will resume. However, many experts have mentioned that if no immediate action is taken, it could cause severe losses to the businesses in the mall.

For traders and shop owners, this water shortage issue couldn’t have come at a worse time. Diwali, the peak shopping season, is almost here, and by now, these malls are usually packed with shoppers. However, it’s a completely different story this time.
