Woman Breaks Window Of Indore-Delhi AC Coach, Claiming Her Purse Was Stolen; Netizens Appalled At Damage

In an absolutely shocking situation, a woman passenger on an Indore-Delhi train broke a window because she lost her purse. The complete destruction of a window, part of public property, left the Internet in total shock. She claimed the lack of help from officials to retrieve her belongings led her to take the extreme step. 

Woman With Toddler Shatters Window On Train For Lost Purse

A video reposted by X user, Pramod Yadav, shows a woman with a toddler sitting next to her, breaking open a window of her air-conditioned coach, claiming her purse was stolen during the journey. Moreover, she accused the railway officials and police of not listening to her grievances. 

The brief video shows her repeatedly shattering the windowpane of her compartment, while her child looks on, and fellow travellers plead with her to stop. She is surrounded by broken glass, but she doesn’t stop. Outside, passers-by stop and watch in shock. 

According to a report by Mint, this theft happened mid-journey. The woman was frustrated with the lack of help from both the police and the railway officials. So, she protested and expressed her anger by taking it out on the window of her air-conditioned coach. Fellow passengers asked her who had taken her purse. To this, she replied, she didn’t know.

Netizens Have Mixed Reactions

Another person enquired why she was breaking the glass. She again responded that she wanted her purse back. But despite groups of people requesting her to stop, she didn’t pay attention. Shards of glass fell on the seat and on the train.

In no time, the video went viral, with Netizens having mixed reactions. While some expressed their displeasure with the police and railway officials not helping her retrieve her purse, others were appalled by the damage done to the public transport. A person revealed that she should be jailed for damaging public property. Another chided that CCTV in the railway could be checked to find the thief. “If something is lost, complain, but it does not mean you can start abusing public property,” wrote an X user.
