When At Home, This Is Where Dibyendu Bhattacharya Is Usually Found

Actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya, who has performed in notable Hindi films like Dev.D, Mission Raniganj and shows like Maharani, The Railway Men and Rocket Boys, is an avid foodie. This time, Dibyendu Bhattacharya cooked a hearty Bengali meal for our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani. The Sunday Brunch episode included a masterclass in Bengali cooking from the talented actor, a house tour and a very interesting conversation.

Dibyendu Bhattacharya Spends Most Of His Time In The Kitchen

In a unique manner, actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya greeted Kamiya through a cute wooden window before letting her into his home through a royal door. The wooden door has golden embellishments, which Dibyendu revealed translates to “Bhattacharyas” in Morse code. His artistically decorated home has a grand piano, a wall with traditional Indian masks, a cute bookshelf and more. A home with a character of its own!

Where does Dibyendu Bhattacharya spend most of his time at home? Pat came the answer: “Kitchen.” Everytime he is at home, he spends most of his time in the kitchen, cooking. The kitchen department belongs to the actor. A task happily given by his wife to him, as he looks forward to cooking for the family. Apart from the kitchen, he likes to spend time at his “den”. His cosy study has a floor-to-ceiling tall bookshelf stacked with his favourite reads. It opens to a small balcony.

His Fave Spot At Home Is His Den

Dibyendu said he can spend hours at his den just reading books, script and even listening to narrations. His awards and accolades beautifully line shelves in his study. Later, the actor showed his kitchen talent as well. The Dev.D actor recalled waking up at 5:30 am to prepare tiffin for his children before they went to school. Dibyendu Bhattacharya also spoke about meeting his wife, Richa, at the mess of NSD. She spoke lovingly about how food continues to be a binding factor in their relationship.
