An Indian expat family from Dubai recently crossed paths with the Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed and described their surreal moment to Khaleej Times.
A Royal Incident With Dubai Ruler

To run into a member of the Dubai Royal Family in a lift requires luck. It appears that this Indian family was fortunate enough. Anas Rahman Junaid, as he and his family experienced a once-in-a-lifetime surprise when the Ruler of Dubai joined them in a lift. The Indian family took the lift from the 22nd story of Atlantis The Royal. This is when His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, Ruler of Dubai, and his entourage entered.
The Indian Businessman expressed his excitement to Khaleej Times. He informed them how the Ruler was so down to earth by nature. The Ruler entered the lift and seeing the family’s happy faces, he put his hand on his son’s shoulder asking him if he recognized who he was. He even chatted for a while in the elevator with the family. Anas Rahman Junaid and his wife quoted this lucky incident as a surreal experience of their life to Khaleej Times.

The Indian Businessman & Family Came For A Two Week Vacation In Dubai

According to a Khaleej Times interview with the Indian expat family, the event happened while the family came on a holiday to Dubai. They usually split their time between Dubai and Mumbai. Anas and their family were on a two-week vacation and stayed at the Atlantis The Royal. He claims he was astounded by Sheikh Mohammed’s interactions with them. Anas admitted that forgetting to wish the Ruler a happy birthday was his biggest regret. Sheikh Mohammed, who turned 50 on Saturday, is renowned for engaging with the people and has frequently shocked locals and guests by striking up a conversation and posing for pictures.
