The pandemic in the last two years had affected everyone in some way or the other. But ever since the restrictions are being eased down, everything slowly seems to be back on track soon. After two years of suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic, India’s job market expanded by 18.4% in March across key sectors, led by the travel and hospitality sector, according to a report released Monday. Hotels and restaurants are mass hiring, so do keep a tab on the Linkedin posts.
Travel And Hospitality Sector Sees A Recovery
As per payroll distribution data collated by Allsec Technologies, a Quess Corp company that is a leading business services provider, in the travel and hospitality sector, which has been hit the hardest by Covid lockdowns over the last two years, saw a 47.6 per cent growth in employment in March. Considering the strain because of the pandemic, it felt good to see the sector grow as opposed to a 48.7 per cent decline in the last year.
Various Industries Showed A Positive Graph
The travel and hospitality sector is not yet on the pre-pandemic level but the recovery rates are good. Several other industries too saw growth apart from travel and hospitality. In the energy sector, headcount rose by 41.5% in March, exceeding pre-pandemic levels by 42 per cent. In March, the IT/ITes industry grew 27 per cent, followed by logistics, which grew 27.3%. The financial sector (16.6%) and the food and beverages industry (12.9%) also showed positive growth.
Some Industries Witnessed A Drop
In contrast to the overall recovery, Healthcare has suffered a loss of 8.3%, while e-commerce lost 1.5% (March 2022 vs March 2021). Trade by wholesalers/retailers (-2.1%) dropped due to lockdowns and restrictions, which hampered businesses, according to the report.
