According to the Henley Passport Index 2025, India is now ranked 81st globally in terms of passport strength. This ranking reflects visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 58 countries. In the past, Indian tourists favoured destinations with easier visa rules. Thailand was a favourite for budget holidays, Dubai for business and shopping, and Singapore for its urban appeal. The paperwork for Schengen visas or trips to the UK and US often deters spontaneous travel. As a result, short breaks to Southeast Asia or the Indian Ocean became the go-to option.

The latest update on visa-free countries opens doors for Indian travellers across Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and the Pacific Islands. Whether you wish to explore ancient temples in Cambodia and go for a wildlife safari in Kenya, or enjoy laid-back island life in Barbados or Trinidad and visit cultural gems like Samoa and Tuvalu, the hassle of visa applications is a thing of the past.
