After several airlines introduced direct flights to Ayodhya from major cities in India, it’s the railways’ turn to improve the connectivity to this pilgrimage. In a bid to do the same, Indian Railways has decided to run more than 200 ‘Aastha Special’ trains to Ayodhya from different cities across the country. These trains will begin after January 22, after the much-awaited Pran Prathistha of the Ram Mandir.
Special Trains To Connect Tier 1 and Tier 2 Cities To Ayodhya
Indian Railways is all set to run more than 200 ‘Aastha Special’ trains from various cities in India to Ayodhya. These trains will start after the Pran Prathistha ceremony on January 22. As per reports, the Railway Ministry has decided to run these trains from Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities from various states to Ayodhya Dham. These trains will be operational for 100 days after the Ram Mandir inaugural ceremony.

Some of the expected routes mapped out on this route are from states like Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Delhi. These routes will have connectivity from Tier 1 and Tier 2 towns in these states to Ayodhya. Furthermore, Indian Railways also plans to add similar routes from every state that will terminate at Ayodhya. Some of the upcoming routes will start from the North-East, most likely from Guwahati, Assam.
As per the circular issued by Indian Railways, you can book these trains only via the IRCTC app or website. The trains will have only vegetarian food by the onboard catering. The charges applicable on these trains include reservation, superfast charges, catering charges, service charges, and GST.
