Indian Women’s Team Won Inaugural Kho Kho World Cup

India created history in the recently conducted Kho Kho World Championship in New Delhi. Hosted at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, both India women’s and men’s teams clinched trophies by winning the World Cup titles on January 19. Celebrities and Netizens flooded social media platforms by congratulating the players for achieving glorious recognition and adding our nation’s name to grand accomplishments.
On Sunday, the women’s team, captained by Priyanka Ingle, defeated Nepal by 78-40. The team of women Kho Kho players emerged victorious among 19 teams in the World Cup. Each team member played exceptionally leading to the country securing the No. 1 position. For the nail-biting final, Anshu Kumari received an award for the Best Attacker of the match. Talented Chaitra B was named the Best Player of the first-ever Kho Kho World Cup.
The dominating win against Nepal showcased our players’ fantastic skillsets, speed, and presence of mind to save the team at any given point in time. Maintaining an ideal speed and dominant force and playing accordingly is a necessary part of Kho Kho and our women played the game beautifully.
Prime Minister Congratulated The Winners
January 19 marked a golden day for Indian Kho Kho. Both men’s and women’s teams representing the nation claimed the winning titles. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the teams and lauded them for their excellent representation.
In a thrilling final, the men’s team defeated Nepal by 54-36 on Sunday. Captained by Pratik Waikar, the team made India immensely proud by winning the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup 2025.
