In other recent visa news, Vietnam is likely to soon issue a temporary visa waiver for Indian passport holders. After Sri Lanka and Thailand, local sources suggest that the Vietnamese government is also contemplating a similar move. This is being done in order to give the tourism industry a boost. As of now, many countries in the European Union don’t need a visa for Vietnam.

Sri Lanka recently announced that Indian passport holders will temporarily not need a visa to enter this neighbouring country. This measure was taken to boost tourism and encourage more people to come to the country so that their economy benefits from the influx of tourists. Thailand, too, announced that Indian passport holders would no longer require a visa to visit the country.

Such moves are taken by respective governments to ensure that people keep visiting their countries. Many countries are still reeling from the devastating lockdown of the 2020 pandemic that crippled the tourism industry worldwide. Now, after two years, things are gradually getting back to normal.
