Indians Are Second Highest Nationality To Visit Singapore

After Singapore reopened its borders to vaccinated travellers in April 2022, travel searches for the island destination jumped. The first 6 months of 2022 resulted in a massive jump in tourists visiting Singapore, with Indians being the second highest nationality to visit the nation after Indonesia. Over 1.5 million tourists travelled to Singapore in the first half of 2022. Out of this 2,19,000 were Indian tourists. The largest number of tourists arrived from Singapore’s neighbour Indonesia.

Reasons Why Indians Love Travelling To Singapore

Around 1,39,000 visitors from Malaysia travelled to Singapore, making it the third highest nationality, followed by Australia with 1,25,000 tourists and finally the Philippines with 81,000 visitors. Singapore’s close proximity to India, affordable flight tickets and its relaxed travel rules welcoming all fully vaccinated tourists without any need for vaccination, are some of the reasons why Indian tourists are travelling to Singapore in large numbers. Visitor arrivals from India expanded by a whopping 1,344 per cent. And this number is only on the rise, as the island nation expects 6 million tourists from across the world as visitors.
