Recently, the Government of India launched another exciting campaign called ‘Nakshatra Sabha’ in Uttarakhand. It was done to boost the Astro-tourism sector for the first time. Nakshatra Sabha Is India’s First Astro Tourism Campaign

Nakshatra Sabha is a collaboration between Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board and Starscapes to promote astro-tourism in India. This new campaign offers interesting and captivating activities like stargazing using powerful tools, solar observations, astrophotography contests, camping under the stars and many other holistic celestial events in Uttarakhand under the guidance of experts. It will commence at George Everest in Mussoorie in the early weeks of June 2024 till mid-2025.
The campaign is not only open for Indians but for humans across the globe to witness the magical cosmic beauty! For this, Uttarakhand becomes an ideal location as it offers vast landscapes, forests, flourishing tourism, homestays and more. Hence, the preferred sites are Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh, Nainital and Chamoli. You will also attend knowledgeable seminars guided by experts and be among like-minded people. Nakshatra Sabha will be a great opportunity to go gaga about astronomy!

- Through Nakshatra Sabha, The residents of Uttarakhand will also be professionally trained to enhance their knowledge about Dark Sky conservation.
- By doing this, there will be more volunteers who will become Dark Sky ambassadors for Astro tourism and spread awareness about the same. Starscapes holds responsibility for this.
- The astrophotography contest is an open platform to showcase your photography skills of the breathtaking cosmic beauty in the sky and sweep off great prices. A win is a win!
