As per reports, the sudden turbulent weather in midair prompted the pilot to report an ‘emergency’ to the Air Traffic Control in Srinagar. With on-ground assistance and the crew’s prompt response, the Delhi-Sringar IndiGo flight landed safely at 6:30 PM without any reports of injuries.
While IndiGo did not specify any aircraft damage, viral visuals on social media showed a part of the aircraft’s nose was broken due to the hailstorm. In a statement, the airline said, “The aircraft will be released post necessary inspection and maintenance.”
