An IndiGo aircraft flying from Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport to Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport experienced a horrifying incident on Thursday afternoon. While landing at the Ahmedabad airport, the tail of the flight plunged and struck the runway leaving everyone anxious and tensed. The moment was a terror-stricken time for the passengers, cabin crew, and everyone present inside the aircraft.
The IndiGo Flight Has Been Grounded Following The Incident
The airline shared a press statement sharing details about the incident suffered by Flight 6E6595. The Director General of Civil Aviation declared the aircraft grounded at Ahmedabad airport. This decision was taken to evaluate the flight and conduct repairs accordingly. Also, the statutory body has asked to look into and investigate this incident of the flight striking its tail with the runway. Relevant authorities have the responsibility to assess it.

The situation was certainly one of the scariest flight experiences for everyone present in the IndiGo flight at that moment. But the good news is that no one suffered any injuries. The flight landed safely later with everyone in good condition. Also, a huge risk of an accident was also prevented here. The situation could have turned upside down but nothing frightening like that happened at the Ahmedabad airport on Thursday. The pilot handled the situation quickly and made a safe landing.

An IndiGo Flight Had A Similar Experience Just Some Days Back
Unfortunately, this is the second time in the past 5 days for an IndiGo flight to suffer some scary experiences like this. The previous tail strike incident was reported at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on 11 June, according to several reports. The IndiGo flight 6E-6183 took off from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata on Sunday. DGCA later ordered a probe into the incident. The flight was grounded and taken for further investigation.
