A woman took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her traumatic experience with IndiGo recently. In her post, she explained how she was stranded for about 12 hours at the Delhi Airport due to an IndiGo flight delay. She was travelling to Hyderabad for a family function and to spend Mother’s Day with her mother there. However, after reaching the Delhi Airport, she came to know that her flight had been cancelled. After that, her rescheduled flight with IndiGo was also delayed. She opted out of travelling that day because she was “exhausted and sad.”
Journalist Shares Harrowing Experience Due To IndiGo Flight Delay
I wanted to sort and discuss this internally, but Indigo doesn't want me to.
Indigo has given me a trauma that I'll remember for very long. The airlines has ruined my day, a family function and Mother's day for me and my mother, who was waiting for me in another city.

Anubha Pandey was planning to travel to Hyderabad from Delhi to attend a family function and spend Mother’s Day with her mother. However, due to flight cancellations and several delays by IndiGo, she dropped her plan of travelling altogether! She took to X (formerly Twitter) to share “a trauma that she’ll remember for very long” by IndiGo.
In a series of tweets, she explained how her initial flight was scheduled for 10:40 AM. However, when she reached the airport at 9 AM, she got to know about the flight cancellation at the luggage check-in counter. Then as she tried seeking help from customer care, she found “no dedicated person handling passengers whose flight got cancelled.”
She decided to reschedule her ticket for a 6:30 PM flight and waited at the airport in the meantime. The flight was delayed for nearly 1.5 hours before she gave up her plans to travel altogether as she was “just exhausted and sad” due to the whole experience. At the airport, the airline offered her a ₹2,000 voucher as compensation. All things aside, she brought to light the fact that while her travel was not urgent, there could be someone scheduled to travel for some important work or medical assistance.
Ms Pandey, we extend our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience you experienced during your recent travel with us. Your original flight was cancelled due to last night’s thunderstorm. The alternative direct flight was delayed due to operational reasons. (1/3)

IndiGo responded to the tweet and gave their reasons for the cancellation and delays. They even mentioned that they would initiate a “full refund for her return journey” and extended their sincere apologies.

Internet Says Can Relate To Such Delays By The Airline
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time a customer had a bad experience with IndiGo due to flight delays. The comments section of Anubha Pandey’s post was filled with people talking about similar experiences with the airline. Here are some of these comments.
This is pretty regular for Indigo unfortunately. I had the exact same series of events and had missed my international flight because of indigo.

Indigo customer service is trash. There is a dire need of a slightly more premium, dependable domestic airline.
I will pay the small premium for better customer service and I know a lot of people who will too.

I agree with your views. I also wrote to the Ministry of Aviation and DGCA about the insensitive behavior of Indigo. But no use. We are left to our date. Very sorry about the state of affairs with the Indian aviation industry.

They don’t have any buffer in between flights and it’s bound to happen.

Our regulators are the worst, Imagine if this happened in Europe, things would have escalated to whole different level.

Really surprised….these guys were known for their on time travel na. Had good experience with them always.
Ps: have not traveled for the last 1 and half years due to health reasons. So looks like things have changed a lot now…
Monopoly is always dangerous. Wishing for more

IndiGo sure has found itself in the soup more times than one can count in recent times. We hope the airline can figure out the cause of these incessant delays and cancellations soon and take care of their customers. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts on this in the comments.
