AirlineRatings.com has unveiled its prestigious 2025 safety rankings, evaluating 385 airlines worldwide across multiple criteria including incidents, fleet characteristics, and operational standards. There are a total of two lists. One is for low-cost and the other is full-service. In both the lists combined, only one Indian airline is featured. IndiGo turned out to be the only Indian airline to be featured in the list of the safest low-cost airlines in the world.
IndiGo Is The Only One In Safest Airlines List 2025
In the Full-Service category, Air New Zealand secured the top position, narrowly outperforming Qantas by 1.50 points, primarily due to its younger fleet. A notable three-way tie for third place emerged between Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways, and Emirates, with identical scores across all metrics.
The rankings welcomed newcomers Iberia and Vietnam Airlines, whilst Singapore Airlines and KLM notably dropped from the list despite maintaining their seven-star safety ratings.
