IndiGo and Malaysia Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding in April 2024, establishing a strategic codeshare partnership to enhance traveller experience and connectivity across major Indian and Malaysian hubs. IndiGo and Malaysia Airlines have partnered to improve connectivity through a codeshare arrangement between the two major tourism markets, India and Malaysia.

Malaysia Airlines will expand its flight code “MH” to seven Indian domestic destinations, including Kolkata, Varanasi, Patna, Tiruchirappalli, Goa, Bhubaneswar, and Visakhapatnam, enhancing its direct routes to its important Indian cities, such as Kolkata, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and New Delhi.
In a press release, Group Managing Director of Malaysia Aviation Group, Datuk Captain Izham Ismail, said, “This collaboration allows us to offer Malaysia Airlines customers greater access to India’s rich culture.”

Malaysia Airlines will introduce IndiGo’s “6E” flight code on domestic flights from KL International Airport Terminal 1 to destinations like Penang, Langkawi, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuching, offering additional travel options for holidaymakers in Malaysia.
“This strategic alliance is a testament to our commitment to bring the skies between India and Malaysia,” said Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo.
