On September 9, an IndiGo A321 aircraft severely damaged its tail section while taking off from the Delhi Airport. As per The Hindu report, the Bengaluru-bound plane hit the runway while taking off and had several white dents on the blue paint of the aircraft skin.

The pilot in charge had, reportedly, immediately informed the air traffic controller (ATC) about the matter. After getting clearance, the aircraft took off from Delhi at 3:50 PM and landed safely in Bengaluru at 6:30 PM. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in this entire incident. For now, the aircraft has been grounded at the Bengaluru Airport.

A plane tail strike usually happens when the tail of the aircraft scrapes the runway. This can happen during takeoff or landing. This is very dangerous as it damages the structure of the aircraft, especially around its tail. The tail of the aeroplane seals the pressurised cabin and is a sensitive zone for any aircraft.
