Heavy rains have been pelting Delhi for the last couple of days. The India Meteorological Department or IMD has issued a red alert for the national capital. As such, flights have also been affected. IndiGo announced an advisory about the rains impacting flights but got significant flak for it. This is because the tone of the message was quite cheerful, which Netizens did not find suitable for such an announcement.

According to a post recently made by IndiGo on X (formerly known as Twitter), the incessant rains in Delhi are affecting the flight schedule as well. Hence, passengers were advised to check their flight status before leaving for the airport.
However, the announcement was made in an unusually cheerful way. This put many people off as it came off as insensitive. It made many feel as if the airline was blasé about the inconvenience the delays and disruptions would cause to the passengers.
IndiGo, in the past, has made headlines for being tardy and cancelling flights abruptly. Hence, their cheerful tone was all the more irksome to many who have experienced the inconvenience firsthand.

The incessant rains in Delhi have brought the entire national capital to a standstill. The daily lives of citizens have been significantly disrupted owing to the downpour. People who are travelling to and from Delhi are advised to keep an eye on their flight status.
@IndiGo6E What about the flight no. 5042, which is stranded at Jaipur Airport side 3 hours because of this ?? At least update the status to passengers onboard other than the refueling?
