India’s largest airline in terms of passengers carried and fleet size is IndiGo. In the latest IndiGo development news, the airline is set to launch its first business class service on November 14, following the arrival of its first aircraft with a business class cabin, marking a new phase in the airline’s expansion.
Route Of IndiGo’s New Business Class Cabin Flight
The airline intends to start offering six daily business class flights on the well-travelled Delhi-Mumbai route. The routes are:
From Delhi to Mumbai, the flight timings are 7:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 7:00 PM. While the flight timings from Mumbai to Delhi are 10:00 AM, 4:00 PM, and 10:15 PM.
These six daily flights will offer 72 business class seats, with each flight featuring 12 seats. IndiGo has introduced a competitive flat fare of ₹18,018 for all business class seats, ensuring a smoother and more efficient travel experience.
All Delhi-Mumbai flights will have business class cabins by early January 2025, and by March 2025, business class will be offered on flights to Bengaluru and Chennai, increasing the reach of local markets. IndiGo plans to induct 45 business class-seater aircraft within 14 months, covering 12 routes and operating 268 daily flights, according to CNBCTV18.
According to a CNBCTV18 report, with 63% of domestic passenger traffic, IndiGo intends to grow its business class category in response to the spike in demand for domestic air travel. The airline wants to grow both its clientele and its market share.
