Krishnappa stated to Deccan Herald that earlier, many pedestrians of Vijayanagar complained about street vendors taking over roads. In his opinion, this underground market is designed to benefit everyone. Siddaramaiah credited M Krishnappa for paving the way for underground markets. He believes AC underground markets like Vijayanagar’s Krishna Devaraya Palike Bazaar will decongest road surfaces in the city.
He hints at building more such underground markets in the ‘Garden City’. Also, commuting to and from this market is a piece of cake for Bengalureans as it’s located next to the metro station and bus stand.
