What was once a bustling district of theatres has evolved into a global hub of commerce, entertainment, and tourism. NYC’s Tims Square’s pulsating lights, towering billboards, and pedestrian-friendly spaces have redefined public interaction and engagement. Telangana Square (T-Square), to be built at Knowledge City, Raidurg, and based after Times Square in New York.
Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (TGIIC) ‘s Request for Proposal (RFP) states that T-Square wants to become a landmark and a work of architectural wonder. The crossroads will be constructed as a multipurpose, park-like plaza with elements of a commercial intersection, an entertainment hub, a collaborative zone, and a tourist destination with lively urban areas. The T Square would also have colourful digital billboards similar to those in Times Square.
The plaza will serve as the neighbourhood’s micro urban lung and a varied gathering spot that appropriately incorporates soft green space. It will host a range of celebrations of the local spirit, from planned activities to musical performances. TGIIC emphasised that, even with Hyderabad’s ongoing infrastructural improvements, the city still lacks a recreational hub.
