UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed’s directives for this exemption were a response to the airspace closures and flight suspensions caused by the ongoing conflict. The regional tension is rising and many challenges have been faced by the masses.UAE has sent a powerful message of choosing humanity over geopolitical chaos in this crisis.
What Iranians In The UAE Need To Do
If you’re an Iranian national affected by the current circumstances, there’s no need to panic over fines. But you do need to take action. The ICP has urged those eligible to register for the exemption through the smart services platform or visit any customer happiness centre across the UAE.

A Consistent Track Record Of Compassion
This isn’t the first time the UAE has stepped up during a crisis. Just last month, Sudanese nationals were also given exemption from all residence and entry permit fines, with relief effective from May 19 and lasting until the end of 2025. That move came in response to the worsening humanitarian crisis in Sudan, once again reinforcing the UAE’s approach to people-first policymaking.
The same timeline now applies to Iranian nationals; the overstay fine exemption will remain in effect until 31 December 2025.
And in doing so, the UAE continues to prove that even amid regional storms, empathy should lead the way.
