The decision will also be based on the results of the probe of the Air India plane crash. The airline is also likely to face scrutiny over its standard operating procedure for aircraft maintenance. Following the incident, Boeing President and CEO Kelly Ortberg issued an official statement saying the company would “defer to India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) for information regarding Air India Flight 171, in accordance with Annex 13 of the United Nations’ International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) protocol.”

More information about this is awaited.
