Stainless steel almirahs, a big polybag overflowing with smaller polybags, cookie tins filled with sewing material… These are just a few things you will find in every Indian household. And now, the Internet has discovered another desi house staple that we didn’t realise was so common – this stainless steel spoon! This thin-handled spoon, albeit engraved with a swirling design, is so common that when an X (formerly Twitter) user asked if anyone else had similar spoons at home, the comments section was filled with a unanimous answer – YES!
The National Spoon Of India? Most Definitely!
X (formerly Twitter) user, @SanathNarayan, posted a picture of a stainless steel spoon and asked a simple question, “Anybody else have this same spoon?” And as you can imagine, hundreds of people said yes and some even posted pictures of their cutlery collection as proof! This started a big debate online and people wondered if indeed this was the “ National Spoon Of India!”
We have all used or still use spoons with this design but never gave it much thought. This online debate, however, surely makes us wonder that no matter the state, region, or demography, a desi household is the same throughout the country!
Netizens React & Show Off Their Collection At Home
The internet gave this spoon the title of “National Spoon Of India” and we couldn’t have agreed more! There were also many hilarious comments on this post and here are a few that you cannot miss!
The best part of the post was how many people posted pictures of their cutlery as proof of this claim!
Many people remember these spoons came free with different household products in the ‘90s and hence became a part of our everyday life!
A few people, who have been left untouched by the beauty of these spoons, could feel the FOMO online and ask if it’s too late to get them now!
Let’s all be honest, this spoon is a staple in Indian households and at some point or another, we all had or have it as part of our cutlery! Let us know if that’s true or not!
