The Launch

Everyone watched with bated breath as ISRO Chandrayaan took flight, only letting go once it successfully landed the rover on the moon, around the southern region. This humongous task was achieved today afternoon i.e on 22nd July 2019, Monday. The launch took place from Sriharikota at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.

The entire project and mission was worth a whopping 978 crores. We are now also the 4th country to have its rover up on the moon in order to better study it. The mission was actually scheduled for 17th July 2019 but just an hour before a technical glitch was discovered and the launch was cancelled that day and rescheduled to 22nd July 2019.
