FIFA has become quite a favourite football tournament amongst people in Saudi Arabia. And people were already anticipating something big related to FIFA 2034. Especially, as Saudi Arabia announced that it would be bidding to host the prestigious tournament. And the entire kingdom lit up with joy (and fantastic fireworks) and cheer as Saudi Arabia was announced as the official host of World Cup 2024 on Wednesday, December 11. Here’s all about this fantastic development.

Saudia Arabia To Host FIFA 2034

From Riyadh to Jeddah, the entire country was in celebration mode as Saudi Arabia was announced as the host of the World Cup 2034. The country proved itself worthy of the title after its long journey of several years. As a result, they have achieved the highest-ever rating for bid submission at FIFA, which ultimately resulted in their winning. This inaugural bid was backed by the growing experience of hosting world-class football events. And it was officially announced on October 4 that the kingdom would bid for the 2034 event just as the process had launched.

A Long Journey To Being The Host

So after the delegations visited all the Saudi cities, where the proposed tournaments were supposed to happen and inspected the key project sites, their facilities, and other preparations were also reviewed. It’s worth mentioning that the kingdom’s bid for hosting this prestigious cup received a whopping 419.8 out of 500 in November 2024. And as the announcement was made, destinations across the kingdom lit up the skies with celebratory fireworks. Pictures soon surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) of key destinations in Riyadh that showcased not just fireworks, but even spectacular drone shows.

Dazzling Fireworks & Drone Shows Took to Skies

Dazzling fireworks and absolutely beautiful drone shows took the sky to announce it to the residents of this brilliant development. In fact, Saudi Arabia is building several new stadiums! And they’re also enhancing many of its already existing ones for the World Cup situated in the cities of Riyadh, Al Khobar, Neom, Jeddah, and Abha. As it happens, there will be 10 other host locations and 10 FIFA fan Festival Sites. With 16 international airports and 2,30,000 rooms available across the host cities, it’s bound to be one of the biggest celebrations of sports that the nation has seen.
