- 30 ml Wine Rice Makgeolli or Soju
- 290 ml Beer
- A set of chopsticks
Follow these steps to make poktanju:
- Grab a pint of beer and pour it into a beer glass.
- Pour some soju or makgeolli into a shot glass. In case you don’t have soju either, try this with rum, vodka, or tequila.
- Grab two chopsticks and place them on the rim of the beer glass.
- Place the sticks close enough to balance the shot glass on them.
Now that you have assembled it perfectly, it is time to knock on the table and watch the shot go into your beer mug. Say cheers and chug!
One has the option to mix and stir, pour the shot glass into the beer mug, or drink the shot and follow it up with beer. But if you choose to place the chopsticks on the mug, you can turn it into a game. Put the shot on the chopsticks and slide them out like Jenga blocks to begin drinking.
