Jackky Bhagnani Reveals How He Learnt To Make Dosas

Bollywood actor and producer Jackky Bhagnani surprised us all with a delicious revelation during his recent appearance on Sunday Brunch with Kamiya Jani. Joined by his partner Rakul Preet Singh, Jackky opened up about his love for dosas and how he mastered the art of making them himself. Over plates of steaming delicacies, Rakul praised Jackky’s dosa-making skills, noting that he doesn’t just stick to basics but even experiments with variations like schezwan dosa. Intrigued? So were we! And the story behind it is as heart-warming as it is mouth-watering.

Jackky Bhagnani’s Dosa Love Began With A Street Food Shop

What sparked Jackky’s culinary journey was a small street-side dosa shop near his house. “There was this South Indian dosa wala named Mani,” Jackky fondly recalled. As a self-proclaimed “fat kid,” Jackky would sneak out for what he called a “second lunch” around 4:30 PM.

Denied by his family due to his frequent hunger pangs, Jackky found comfort at Mani’s shop, trading coins from his piggy bank for crunchy, buttery dosas. “Even if I had three dosas, with chutney and all, it would cost me around 110-120 rupees. I was sorted!” he laughed.

Years Of Observing Taught Jackky The Dosa Craft

Jackky Bhagnani revealed that simply standing and observing the dosa master at work for over four to six years taught him everything he needed to know. “I learnt every type—from Mysore dosa to sandwich uttapam,” he shared.
