The auspicious Jagannath Yatra has now begun in Puri, Odisha. Many devotees from all across the country have gathered in Puri to witness this spiritual event. Taking to his official X account today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartfelt greetings and wished everyone good health, success, and prosperity. He also mentioned that apart from being celebrated across cities in India, the Jagannath Yatra is also known all over the world. He said that Lord Jagannath is not just an inspiration but also a divine presence who bestows many blessings in our lives.
In the video shared on both his official X and YouTube accounts, he highlighted that the Jagannath Rath Yatra is not just about faith, it is also about the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”, which aims to build cultural bonds between people from different regions of India. And using this line on this auspicious occasion feels true, as Puri in Odisha witnesses lakhs of people from across the country every year during the Jagannath Rath Yatra.

Devotees Gather For This Sacred Festival In Puri
Rath Yatra of Puri is a chariot festival and a public procession that is held annually in Odisha. Devotees associate it with Lord Jagannath (a form of Vishnu or Krishna). They consider it one of the most spiritual festivals in India, attracting lakhs of people from across the country.
Devotees are celebrating this year’s Rath Yatra on June 27 to honour Lord Jagannath, his brother Lord Balabhadra, and his sister Subhadra. People believe Rath Yatra marks Lord Jagannath’s journey from the temple to the streets to meet his devotees.
