Jaipur Hit By 3 Back-To-Back Earthquakes In 30 Min. Highest Tremor Measures 4.4 On Richter Scale

Jaipur woke up to a chaotic and scary morning this Friday. The Pink City was hit by 3 back-to-back earthquakes very early in the morning of 21 July. Shocks jolted in this Rajasthan city thrice in a period of just about half an hour, as reported by the National Centre for Seismology. Here is all the necessary information that you need to know about all these tremors.

The First Earthquake Jolted In Jaipur At 4:09 AM

The Twitter page of the National Center for Seismology (@NCS_Earthquake) took to the microblogging site to share details and updates about the tremors experienced in the Rajasthan capital.

Exactly at 04:09:38 IST (4:09 AM), the first earthquake of 4.4 magnitude hit Jaipur. The National Center for Seismology also stated that it occurred at a depth of 10 km.

It was 04:22:57 IST (4:22 AM) when the second tremor was felt in Jaipur. The second earthquake hit the city at a depth of 5 km and a magnitude of 3.1.

National Center for Seismology (@NCS_Earthquake) tweeted that the third tremor hit at 04:25:33 IST (4:25 AM), measuring 3.4 on the Richter Scale.

No Loss Have Been Reported Yet!

As the earthquakes began jolting in the Pink City, the people became very scared and they quickly came outside of their houses. It was very early in the morning when these tremors were felt in the city. The good news is that there have been no major losses because of the shocks. Till now, there are no reports of any casualties, major accidents, or any destruction of houses or properties, according to a report by India Today.

Vasundhara Raje, the former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, tweeted about these back-to-back earthquakes hitting the city. She stated that tremors were felt in other places in Rajasthan along with Jaipur as well.

Social media users took to different platforms to share clips and videos of the tremors felt in the wee hours of the day. They have shared visuals of how it was quite dark when the earthquakes started hitting Jaipur. Also, we can clearly see how things started shaking badly during the incident.
