Jamaica To Review Its Visa Rules For GCC Travellers
According to a report by the Gulf News, Jamaica is planning to review its visa rules for travellers from the Gulf states. This includes those from the UAE, and the aim is to attract more visitors from this region. As revealed by Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, there are plans being made to review visa rules and make it easier. However, it’s worth noting that this is happening to ease the entry requirements for GCC nationals. Yes, with this change, there could be a further boost in the arrivals that is bound to drive significant growth for Jamaica’s tourism sector.
29% Increase In Visitors From GCC
Talking about the visa review, it is supposed to focus on simplifying the visa application process for people who are coming from those regions. As a result, authorities are looking into a more seamless way for visa facilitation to ease the entry for visitors from the GCC. By removing such unnecessary barriers, it is bound to open doors to more travellers from the region. This comes after the country recorded a 29% increase in visitors from this region in 2024. As it happens, there were more visitors from the UAE, which was recorded at 37.3% year-on-year growth. Other GCC countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar also saw many people travelling to this Caribbean nation.

Several Countries Enjoy Visa-Free Access
Although many countries, such as the USA and Canada, enjoy visa-free entry to Jamaica, there are some that can even enter Jamaica visa-free for 30 days. Yes, this includes those travelling from countries like Austria, Bolivia, and China. Other countries like Belgium and Brazil passport holders get a visa-free entry for 90 days to Jamaica. While countries like the UK and the US get visa-free entry for 180 days to Jamaica.
