DeVANS’ entry into the premium lager segment comes at a time when the Indian beer market is experiencing a significant shift. Consumers are moving away from mass-produced, lower-quality lagers and embracing craft brews, premium lagers, and beers that offer distinct, bold flavours. The evolving tastes are largely driven by a younger, more educated demographic that is willing to experiment with new styles.

According to recent industry reports, the premium beer market in India has been growing at an impressive rate. More consumers are opting for high-quality, international-style brews.  Premiumization in the beer market also aligns with larger consumer trends, such as a focus on mindful consumption—consumers are drinking less, but they are drinking better. As the beer industry in India continues to diversify, companies that can offer a mix of both classic and experimental styles are likely to emerge as leaders.
