EV is the future of the automobile industry. From cars and two-wheelers to buses – everything is taking an electric turn to make the environment greener and safer for future generations. That’s why, as part of the Jammu Smart City project, Tata Motors was given an order to supply 100 electric buses for environmentally sustainable public transportation. And they have delivered the first fleet of this massive order. Similarly, Tata Motors has also been given an order for 100 e-buses for the Srinagar Smart City project.
Driving Jammu Towards A Greener Tomorrow With Tata Motors
Tata Motors is India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer and they have been making an impact with their electric vehicles in various segments. They joined hands with the Housing and Urban Development Department of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir to work on the smart city projects for Jammu and Srinagar. They aimed to establish an environmentally sustainable public transportation system in these areas. For this, they ordered Tata Motors to provide 100 Ultra EV air-conditioned electric buses. The first fleet of this massive order has been rolled out today.
Minister of Home Affairs of India, Amit Shah flagged off these buses in Jammu today. He was accompanied by the Minister of Heavy Industries of India, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey, and the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha. This delivery is part of the larger order where Tata Motors will supply, maintain, and operate 100 e-buses in Srinagar and Jammu, respectively. This will take place for 12 years as part of the Smart City projects in these cities.
